Inspiration

Steam Modern combines the atmospheric dark aesthetic of Valve's modern Steam client (deep navy #171A21, rich dark surfaces #1B2838 / #2A475E, and electric blue accents #66C0F4) with classic 18th–19th century marine oil paintings by J.M.W. Turner and Ivan Aivazovsky.

All wallpaper artworks have been programmatically processed using custom Python algorithms:

  1. CRT & Print Effect: Chromatic RGB channel displacement, subtle 25% scanlines, micro-grain texture, and light sepia tinting.
  2. Palette Color Remapping: Luminance-based LUT color mapping into the Steam Modern dark palette.
